Day 24: Surfboard

Date: 6-13-13

Wow. There is only a week left in the first portion of the trip and I still can't wrap my head around the fact that this time next week I'll be in Germany. It's a really bittersweet feeling. At least I got more sleep today.

This is going to be a short post because today we did nothing but lounge around. I woke up just as Giancarlo, Mariella, and Sofia were heading down to the beach. Federico was already there, and the other two boys were sleeping. I ate breakfast by myself and then changed and walked to the others.

When I arrived, Federico and Quinn had captured the surfboard so I joined them. We spent a couple of hours horsing around with the board and the children that wanted to take it from us. Eventually Mattia joined us and we peacefully paddled around after stealing it away from all the rough housing.

After lunch, we did what we do every afternoon; play cards and go for another swim. Nothing particularly noteworthy. I'm not sure if its the medicine I'm taking or all the sun (both most likely) but I've been in an extremely tired and lazy mood.

We stayed late at the beach, had dinner, then went to the beach again. At this time (about 10), a group of people were setting up speakers. We hung around and discovered that they put on a small party of sorts. Only one other group of people besides ours showed and they kind of danced while we watched. I went to bed around one while the others hung around the party.
